Chase Freedom Credit Card

If you're looking to save a little extra dough on gas, then getting the Chase Freedom card may not appear to be the top option available, but upon closer inspection, this card is pretty darn good.

While it's not marketed as a "gas rebate card" it can certainly become one due to how the cash back system on this card works. 

Instead of a lot of other cards where you get a certain percentage back just on gas purchases, with the Chase Freedom Card you get 3% cash back on the top 3 everyday spending categories. 

So if gas is in your top 3 expenses, then you get 3% cash back on gas. 

As far as a rewards cards in general go, this has to be one of the best on the market if not the best available. 

And if you're like me, then you're doing just about anything you can to save some money on gas - well getting a gas card (or in this case a "rewards card") is one of the easiest "no brainer" ways to save some of that hard earned cash for something more fun than gasoline.

Here's how it works:

If gas is one of your top 3 expenses for the month, you get 3% cash back on those purchases.  And this works for any gas station, not just certain ones like with a lot of other rebate cards.

The Catch: This is really a great card.  Like I said, it's not marketed as being a gas card, but nonetheless it works just like one.  The only way this wouldn't be a good card for you for getting cash back on gas is if gas isn't one of your top 3 expenses.  And remember, it doesn't have to be overall in your top 3 for your monthly budget, just in the top 3 expenses that you use the credit card for. 

But I have to say that I highly recommend this card since it gives you cash back for gas and a lot more - basically you get cash back on the stuff you need it most - who doesn't want that?

If you're only going to use your card for gas purchases, get the Discover Open Road Gas Card, but if you're going to use it for more than gas, then you get this card - it rocks!
